DINOSAURS AND DRAGONS
How do you find fossils? How did dinosaurs evolve and when did
they live? What did they eat? During this presentation, the audience will see a wide assortment of fossils including
an authentic mammoth tooth, an oreodont skull, an ornithominimus claw, triceratops teeth, a Eubrontes dinosaur
footprint and much more. Displays will include a table where students may handle specimens, such as rudistid clams,
oysters, corals, iguonadon bones, and casts. There will also be a table containing more delicate or valuable specimens
which may not be handled.
The dinosaur talk may take several forms. It may be presented as a talk and demonstration only. This form is best
for larger audiences. It may also be presented under the name "Dinosaurs and Dragons" in which the fossil
demonstration and talk is combined with stories of dragons. The third variation is appropriate for smaller groups.
In that form, the dinosaur talk may be combined with participation exercises dealing with understanding fossils
and dinosaurs.
